Etta came to us as first and foremost as a pet, she was gentle, loyal, and most of all loving. A well balanced dog who never gave us any cause for concern. Yes her name say’s it all-- she was ‘Mytee Majestic’.
From being a few months old we began to train her to compete in working trials and she displayed potential and aptitude in all the disciplines of this sport. She excelled in nosework; I can remember my husband completing a track and having to take time to get his breath back as she was so fast! As for the other exercises in the sport, she did well, and eventually she qualified CDex, UDex, and finally gained a certificate of merit in WD.
During the first week of July of 2009, we entered Etta in Competitive Obedience, and she won out of beginners and would have competed in Novice and ‘A’ later this year.
Unfortunately Etta suddenly collapsed and died later in July 2009. The cause was a bleed into the spleen and from this a clot travelled to her brain. She had shown no signs of illness at all, and the veterinary surgeon described our tragic loss as a freak event!
Our lovely girl taken from us, what a great shock this was. She was precious to us and she’ll always have her special place in our hearts.
Thank you Lisa and Alec for allowing us the privilege of sharing our lives with Etta.
