Della was the last puppy to be born in Callie’s second litter. It was a definite sign that she was born on Ava’s tenth birthday, as she certainly has some of her spirit! She is the sixth generation of proven working trials dogs, so we hope she can live up to expectations!

Della was more or less raised with clicker training. Teaching her a variety of tricks opened up her capacity for learning and she has always soaked up new things like a sponge. We might not always get it right, but we have a lot of fun along the way!

Whilst Della was a puppy I took her along to ‘Learning About Dogs’ where we participated in several courses and passed our CAP1 and CAP2 both with distinction.

Della has joined Callie at Crufts representing the W.C.G.B at Discover Dogs, taken part in clicker demonstrations for North of England Flatcoated Retriever A ssociation and a working trials demo for the Flatcoated Retriever Society celebration weekend. We tried our hand at showing but it really wasn't for us, we felt more at home with trials.

She loves her regular Saturday training sessions with trialling friends ~ Jackie & Bud, Jackie & Josh and Dot & Chiot with Billy always coming along to take lots of photographs and make the tea!

Della’s working trials career started successfully with a CDex qualification at her second attempt. In her first 12 months of competition she qualified CDex, UD and UDex twice. Recently we gained our first WDex - my first ever WD Championship qualification!

Della was awarded the WCGB Bruno Trophy for Working Trial Weimaraner of the Year 2009 and Gwen's Trophy for 2010
Della was awarded the WA Bowdor Trophy for Working Trial Weimaraner of the Year 2009 & 2010.
